Tina Huizinga

Tina knew she wanted to be a lawyer at the ripe old age of 5, and pursued that with vigor, albeit with plans to pursue criminal law. As with the best laid plans, Tina discovered through her articles and first year practicing that she had a passion for family law, and an interest in appellate advocacy. Her sole practice is family law, and has appeared at all levels of Court in Alberta, with over 50 appearances at the Court of Appeal. She has filed a leave application to the Supreme Court of Canada

Tina taught Techniques in Negotiations as a sessional instructor at the University of Alberta Law school for 5 years and is a regular speaker, presenter, chair and volunteer with the Canadian Bar Association, Legal Education Society of Alberta, and CPLED. She has also served on various committees, including being a member of the Habitat for Humanity Legal Build Committee.

Tina completed her national arbitration training in 2015, and is a Qualified Arbitrator, taking arbitrations in family law.
